Places and Spaces…
The Standard Copenhagen

I’m on my way out the door to finish prop shopping for a gorgeous interiors shoot, yes, I love days like this! While I can’t say too much about the shoot just yet, it won’t come as too much of a surprise to hear that a big part of the inspiration came from the eternally cool Scandinavian brand of style. While trawling for further ideas I came across The Standard Hotel in Copenhagen. A step away from the usual bare minimalism often associated with Scandinavian design, the gold lanterns, opulent draped curtains and claw footed tables aren’t what you’d expect to find, and yet they seem perfectly at home with the cool colours and bare lines. My favourite detail though has to be all the giant trees brought indoors..one of these years I’ll figure out a good way to recreate that look at home but for now The Standard is definitely going on my wish list places to stay. Have you come across any stunning design hotels that were particularly memorable? I’m always open to new places to add to the list!

Thanks Anne-marie, it was a really fun day shooting and will be out in an Interiors magazine here at the end of the month so I’ll look forward to sharing the results then :)

Thanks Christine, I just can’t get enough of the whole Nordic influence at the moment, all I need to do now is win the lotto so I can travel to all of these places! ;)
