My beautiful baby sister Sinéad has lived and breathed music from the moment she was born. With a ten year gap between us, and six years between her and my next sister Éadaoin, she pretty much grew up with three mothers fussing over her! On finishing school last year she made the big decision to move to Texas to pursue her dreams of a career as a cellist, and her playing has gone from strength to strength in the mean time. She is a wonderful example of following your passion wholeheartedly despite the obstacles, and she always does it with a smile on her face. As much as we like to give her a hard time and tease about keeping her head out of the clouds, we are in fact very very proud of her! For anyone in the Cork area tomorrow, Sinéad is giving a lunchtime performance at 1.10pm in aid of an incredibly worthy cause, Marymount Hospice. The recital is on in the CIT Cork School of Music so if you fancy a lunch hour with a difference we’d love to see you there. Here’s a little taste of one of her performances stateside this year!
