Prop styling for interiors brands has always been high on my to do list, so I was delighted to get the chance to delve into the gorgeous linens by 31 Chapel Lane recently when styling their collection. You can see a taste of that shoot in my portfolio and I’ll look forward to sharing the full spread once it has been published. There are so many stylists out there who inspire me with their amazing work in this area, case in point, Australian stylist Stephanie Somebody. Her work has a relaxed elegance that makes me want to just climb into every shot and take up residence. These images for Shelter 7 are a perfect example of her innate styling sense. Hues of black, grey, cream and white blend effortlessly with natural wood, leather and feather textures, and don’t let the just slept in bed and casual draping of blankets fool you, it’s such a challenge achieve! Stylists like Stephanie force me to analyse my work and see how I can push it further. Maybe it’s the teacher in me, but I always see the Summer as a chance to close one chapter and embrace a new one. I’m really excited to see the goals I’ve set for myself this season start edging in the right direction. What about you? Do you like to set goals in the traditional New Year in January or at a different time? I’m hoping there’ll be lots more chances to learn and refine my skills during the Summer ahead but regardless of how the next couple of months pan out I’m already savouring every minute.
