I first travelled to Paris when I was thirteen years old and instantly fell head over heels in love. It always fascinates me how every city has such a different mood and energy and as cliché as it sounds, Paris was elegance, beauty and innate style all wrapped up in a bow. I had travelled to different parts of France as a child and that trip to the capital, wandering its narrow streets, exploring the river walks and hidden cafés, sealed my fascination for all things French for good, and is probably part of the reason that I ended up getting married there many years later.
Delphine Manivet personifies all the things that had me hooked on the French culture from day one. Her designs are classic and elegant, but with just the right amount of allure, and they always made from the finest materials to be found. This gorgeous session in Paris, captured by Elisa Bricker, has me dreaming of another French adventure sooner rather than later. I love how the simplicity of the silk dress is counteracted by the plunging back and intricate mantilla lace veil.
