It was a Claire Pettibone gown that first made me stop in my tracks when searching for my own wedding dress. While I didn’t end up choosing it, her designs opened me up to the idea that a wedding gown didn’t have to fit typical clichés. That was four years ago (I can’t believe I’ve been married almost three years!) and Claire Pettibone has gone from strength to strength, creating season after season of stunning gowns.
Case in point this beauty, the Thalia gown, from her Earthly Paradise collection. Inspired by a Roman goddess, lace appilqué and silk velet (who even knew that was a material!) combine to create a sumptuous and evocative gown that manages to blend a sense of decadence with simplicity. Captured above at Jose Villa’s annual workshop in Mexico, it look like it was made for a floral headpiece and flowing bouquet. See the full Earthly Paradise collection here and be prepared to swoon!
