Hello everyone…I’m coming back a bit sheepish for todays post as I know it’s been ridiculously quiet on the blog for the last week. Does anyone else have the conundrum of being so busy doing what they love that there’s very little time left over to blog about it?! This week was one of those weeks where both my music and styling life decided to throw amazing but overwhelmingly busy projects my way. I had the pleasure of helping to organise an event in city hall in Cork on Saturday and Sunday for over 200 violin students from age 4-14 (and now imagine the 200 violins on stage with them!) and then yesterday was spent prop styling for Donal Skehan’s next issue of FEAST Magazine. I can’t wait to share the results of FEAST, but for today, another glimpse at the inspiration process and how a board comes to life.
I was delighted to be asked to style a DIY feature for the latest issue of BASH magazine which featured pretty paper flowers and nifty dipped jars. I’ve been raving about the jar trick to everyone and anyone since, as it’s so easy to recreate, so pick up a copy to find out the secret for the beauties above. Having discussed a few different colour palette options, I decided with Nathalie (who did incredible work shooting the story!) that pastels and golds would be the best way to showcase the look. The board below was the starting point and made sure everyone on the team was working towards the same end result. Nikki from Daintree created the gorgeous jars and flowers, and she shows the process step by step in the latest issue if you fancy giving them a go!
