Floral Fiesta…By Brosnan Photographic
and The Informal Florist

Hello everyone, how was your weekend? I finally returned to Dublin after a week of work in the UK and while travelling is always a treat, nothing beats being at home! Any weekend that involves some styling is usually a good thing in my eyes too and on Saturday I was lucky enough to collaborate with some talented folk to style a great DIY project for an upcoming wedding publication (more on that soon!). The overall mood was fun and whimsical which is exactly the feeling that came to mind at Sam and Maria’s beautiful celebration in Ballyvolane House in June, captured by Christina of Brosnan Photographic.

I was lucky enough to witness this beautifully styled wedding first hand, working with Claire of The Informal Florist, to bring the last details of her beautiful floral creations to life. Flowers and greenery for me are the element that can have the biggest impact on your wedding styling, so it’s always a treat to go behind the scenes and work with someone like Claire to see the magic unfold. She had already done all of the hard work by the time I got there on the day but we had lots of fun finishing the table arrangements and making sure that every inch of their room was filled with colourful whimsical flowers. I loved how she used camping tins for the centrepieces (such an apt kooky detail for the couple) filling them with a mix of wild greenery, poppies, jasmine and coral peonies. The bouquets were the perfect icing on the cake, matching Maria and Sam’s infectious enthusiasm and affection, which Christina captured so beautifully on the day.

Simply stunning, right? You could see from the very start that Maria and Sam had put so much of themselves into the wedding and I’ve no doubt the rest of the day was a rocking party too! Wishing you both a wonderful future ahead. Thanks to Christina for allowing me to share these beauties and huge thanks to Claire for letting me play with flowers for the day, I was in my element! If you’re looking for a talented photographer and florist to make your wedding all that you dreamed of and more, I couldn’t recommend these lovely ladies enough!

It was a stunning wedding and such a treat to get to be involved in some small way, Christina and Claire did an amazing job!

  2. Thanks so much for sharing Maria & Sam’s wedding day! It was truly beautiful.

  3. The bouquet was the perfect creation for the wedding theme and location. Robust and vibrant, the selected flowers, greens and stripped bow were inspired. Also quite imaginative and entertaining was the signage used throughout the proceedings. From the exterior to table, they provided a sense of character that made the party fun and very enjoyable. Great pics but I loved that lush final shot of the couple underneath the arch!
