For those of you not reading in Ireland we’ve been lucky enough to experience an epic heat wave here for the last couple of weeks. Now this might not seem like a big deal given that it’s July and in most normal countries sunny warm days would be the norm, but to say it’s a novelty would be an understatement! The last time we had a stretch of weather this good was back in 1995 so rather than sitting by the computer blogging, I’m afraid I’ve been out and about soaking up every single sun ray for fear it’s all gone by tomorrow and we have to wait another 18 years for the next one. With two shoots styled this week (of the wedding and food styling variety!) I have plenty of lovely things to share with you soon. In the mean time I hope you’ll forgive my silence and enjoy this stunning summer citrus inspired board created by the talented Sara of Burnett’s Boards. I was thrilled to see one of my bouquet’s takes centre stage and I love everything about this fresh and zingy palette, perfect for a sunny wedding!
Speaking of summer fun my husband and I are finally going on a much belated honeymoon (two years later, better late than never!) in a couple of weeks to California and one of our stops will be Santa Barbara. While we unfortunately don’t have the budget for a night at the Four Seasons Resort Santa Barbara, we’ll definitely be tempted to pop in and sample their signature cocktail “The Backyard Barbareno” discovered via the gorgeous bridal magazine Flutter (definitely worth a look, you can see all their beautiful features here). You’ll find the recipe below and it’s as simple as mix, shake and garnish. Let me know if you try it out…I think it would be pretty perfect in any kind of heat wave!
The Backyard Barbareno
15ml of Re-find Handcrafted Vodka
15ml of Ventura Orangecello Blood Orange
73ml of fresh blood orange juice
15ml of fresh lime juice
Barspoon of guava jalapeno preserves
Coriander/Cilantro flowers to garnish
