Dreaming of Lilacs….
The perfect wildflower for your wedding

All the gorgeous lilacs blooming in local gardens at the moment have made my evening walks even more enjoyable. I’ve been tempted more than once to knock on one or two doors and ask them could I steal some and see what kind of bouquet’s I could create but for one reason or another I never got around to it. If you’re planning your wedding for this time next year keep in mind lilac season and consider using them throughout the day. They smell absolutely amazing and would be the perfect flower to forage wild. A cutting or two in your bouquet, beautiful bunches freshly picked overflowing at the tables and for wedding favours, lilac sugar to remind your guests of the day for many weeks to come! I couldn’t imagine a more lovely detail to punctuate the whole event. If you’re lucky enough to still have access to some wild lilacs here’s the amazing recipe for lilac sugar by Linda Lomelino.

  1. That blue plate is really lovely. So delicate, you almost don’t want to eat off it.

It’s stunning isn’t it! I often feel that way about tablescapes for an editorial…torn between being too pretty to eat off but not wanting to let it go to waste!
