Hi everyone, sorry for my absence on Friday, the internet didn’t want to behave itself in Barcelona! I’ve now returned to the Emerald Isle and broadband, so I hope you’ll forgive me once you see today’s gorgeous wedding by the wonderfully talented Jimena Roquero. I thought a bit of Spanish eye candy was in order, and anyone who’s considering a destination wedding in Spain at the moment, I hope this will encourage you to go for it. Katie and Ben managed to plan an intimate affair from London and Berlin filled with colour, joy and fun under the glare of the Catalan Sunshine. I loved their stylish take on reception decor, adding a pop of colour with flowing ribbons, and delicate sprigs of baby’s breath to the tables. They also embraced the Spanish culture, having an informal celebration with local delicacies!
Madrid born Jimena Roquero captured all the beautiful moments of their day with her eye for the intimate and unexpected. She lets us in on how Katie and Ben’s day came to be!
“Ben, while still in London, and Katie in Berlin, organized the destination wedding in Tiana, where Katie’s dad has been living for while. The ceremony took place in Tiana Town Hall, in English and Catalan, and they later celebrated a very informal reception in the rural cottage Can Ballus, surrounded by vineyards, vegetable gardens and mediterranean flavours: gazpacho, Spanish jamon, paella, salads, butifarra and fideua were part of the extensive menu. Some of Ben and Katie’s friends played live for a devoted audience, and two other friends, professional dj’s, were in charge of cheering up the rest of the evening.”
Thanks so much to Jimena for allowing me to share her work. If anyone’s considering a wedding in Spain, (or elsewhere!) be sure to check out more of her fab work here!
