Having seen an uber romantic proposal in Friday’s post, it’s easy to forget that asking your bff’s to be part of your day should also be a big deal! Ok so it’s not a very Irish thing to do, we do love to keep things simple and just ask face to face, but when I spotted these really cute ideas for asking your gal pals to be part of your wedding, I thought why not? Even if you’ve known who your bridesmaids would be since you were 5, these ladies are hopefully going to play a big role in your adventure, so setting the tone from the start is a lovely way to mark the occasion! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing!
Bridesmaid Goodie Boxes
I love the idea of creating a little box of meaningful details for each of your ladies. You could write a few words about the role you’d like them to play (help with flowers, keep a supply of mojito’s on tap?!) and pop in any ideas that you have gathered already. Photos of things you like, or paint cards of the colours you think will play a key role on the day! Not only will the treasure chest start off the wedding planning on an exciting note, they will be a lovely memento to have long after the day is over. Pink and Honey Event Styling created a gorgeous inspiration shoot filled with pretty ideas for the special ladies in your life, see it all here.
Pretty Cards and Hankerchiefs
Keeping it simple isn’t a bad think either. There are lots of ‘Will you be my bridesmaid’ cards available online (I know, who would have thought?!) and The Wedding Chicks even have some free downloads available. If you’d like something simple other than a card, these printed hankerchiefs from Allie Ruth might do the trick, or for an Irish connection, check out Ailbhe from Pretty as a Picture’s gorgeous DIY project that she created for her favourite ladies, maybe she could make something similar for you!
Simple and Pretty DIY ribbons
If you’re feeling crafty but don’t want to take on anything too complicated, these beautiful unravelling ribbon projects are ideal. I would love to be there to see their face when they unravel a pretty ribbon and see the words unfolding, and you can be sure it would make the moment even more memorable!
So would you consider some of these ideas? Or maybe some of you have already come up with creative ideas to break the (hopefully good!) news to your friends?! Be sure to comment and share your thoughts!
