Evening Gowns…Bridesmaid Glamour Fest!

One of the highlights for most brides, is the chance to shop for that show-stopping, once in a lifetime gown to rock on your special day! But why should the opportunity to wear an amazing frock end there? I know after post wedding Pippa fever, every brides fear of being outshone by her bridesmaids reared it’s ugly head, but I’m a big believer in allowing your favourite ladies maximise the fashion potential that comes with your wedding day.

Forget traditional bridesmaid choices, why not see it as a once in a lifetime fashion fest for you all, that says “red carpet” more than “27 dresses”.  The kind of dress that makes you feel like a goddess for the day, and that you know they would love to wear again and again in the future, much like the beauties below!

There’s nothing new about putting your bridesmaids in long dresses, but what about something like the gorgeous evening dresses above. I know I’d love to wear any of those spectacular dresses again, and none of them scream ‘bridesmaid’.

The look immediately brings to mind black tie, and while it would fit in well at that kind of event, that’s not to say that it wouldn’t work in another style of wedding. If you are having a more rustic setting, ask your bridesmaids to stick to a particular palette, that works with the rest of your day. If old hollywood glamour, or city chic is more your thing then, depending on the number of bridesmaids you are having, it can be worth taking a risk, by allowing them to choose dresses along a more contrasting colour scheme.

Keep in mind that this is an investment look, the chance for your chosen ladies to find a really special gown that will forever remind them of your big day. As always there are loads of amazing gowns to choose from at the upper end of the market, but if your budget is a bit more realistic (who’s isn’t right?!) why not consider renting a dazzling gown from somewhere like Covet in Dublin? That way you get a bit of designer heaven without the wallet dent that goes with it.

I’ve rounded up the most show stopping evening dresses available at the moment, so whether you’re looking for a key piece to get you through wedding season as a guest, or you’d like to adorn your bridesmaids with evening gown glamour, take the hassle out of the search right here!
