The design world has gone crazy recently for anything deer or stag related! While I’ve never been too taken with real stag heads mounted on walls, I must say I’m a fan of the handmade tribute versions popping up all over the place.
So if you’re looking for a wedding theme that’s design led, but definitely has that unique edge, why not consider deer as a starting point for inspiration?

If you’re investing in wedding decor to style your day, make sure it multi-tasks and is something that you can display in your home as a special reminder of the occasion. I’d love to see a funky stags head as a focal point for a cake stand, sweet station or guest book area, and it would look beautiful in your home after the event.
You can go as extreme or subtle with the deer theme depending on your taste! There are beautiful deer themed invitations available like the one above from Red Ribbon Fox Design. I also love the deer images printed on books and sheet music found here on Etsy, which could be stunning framed and stamped as table numbers.

Deer antlers fall off naturally each year, and are commonly found in the U.S and Canada in spring. I’m not sure there are many antlers naturally hanging around that you could get your hands on in Ireland but you never know! They can be used as striking juxtaposition in floral and table decor, or perhaps they’ll start taking over as the new photo-booth props!
What’s the verdict on the antler styled head piece above? I’m don’t think I’d be brave enough to try it but maybe there’s a girl out there with enough style to make it her own! If you want a subtle nod to antler style there’s always the option of jewelry, like the gorgeous ring above, or simply use it as a cute logo for favours and other paper items from the day!
