Haute Homespun Nashville Wedding…
By Kristyn Hogan

You know when a couple have this kind of reaction at their first look, that it’s going to be a fun filled and emotional day! And if you add a blue striped gingham suit and a patchwork dress to that, you have the kind of stylish and heartfelt celebration that us wedding bloggers dream of!

Kristyn Hogan captured these stunning details and all the love that came with it on Jennifer and Ricks beautiful day. It is often hard to figure out how best to honour loved ones that have passed away. I must say that Jennifer’s decision to sew part of her grandmothers patchwork quilt into her custom made dress, is one of the most unique and loveliest ideas I have come across so far.

They chose to celebrate their marriage at Cedarwood, a 19th century farm estate that is perfect for a laid back American barn wedding. They kept the colour scheme bright and vibrant, inspired by the cool blues and vivid reds of the patchwork quilt.

Doesn’t Rick look the epitome of Southern charm in his seersucker suit and bow tie? Jennifer decided to mark the occasion, by giving him a present of a vintage pocket watch, which would make a lovely gift for any groom.

I kind of want to rush out and find flowers like these to decorate my own home! Absolutely gorgeous arrangements. Another idea worth stealing is to use simple colourful glass that you may have at home, as a focal point for a drinks table. They also gathered pretty handkerchiefs, which not only looked great on display, but were the perfect favours for guests to take home.

Even though I’m all about the gorgeous details in the styling of a celebration, I can’t deny that the most magical images are always about those special moments shared with your favourite people. Kristyn Hogan beautifully captured so many of these highlights, from the moment Jennifer’s parents first saw her in her dress, and the emotion and significance of the ceremony, to the joy and excitement of all the guests to be present to celebrate such a momentous occasion!

Thanks so much Kristyn for sharing your fantastic work and for giving us a glimpse of such a unique and personal wedding! Kristyn is available for international travel and would love to photograph an Irish wedding, so if you’re interested in her fresh and timeless style, be sure to get in touch!

And thanks too to Jennifer and Rick, I hope that the joy and laughter that filled your wedding day will continue to follow you through your married life!
